About the Author
Karen Anne Webb
Author Bio
Karen’s journey into the realms of magic and fantasy began in her childhood, inspired by folk tales where virtuous characters triumph against insurmountable odds. These stories shaped her worldview and deeply influenced her writing, where hope often prevails over reason, and good ultimately triumphs.
The Carotian Union and its diverse inhabitants came to Karen in a series of vivid dreams during her time studying to become a nurse practitioner. After the fourth dream, she felt a compelling urge from the Universe to bring these stories to life. With half of her epic quest series already published and the rest, including an immersive sequel, ready for release, Karen dedicates her time to perfecting her work for future publication.
Karen’s multifaceted career path is reflected in her writing. Initially majoring in chemistry, she transitioned to nursing to support her husband’s burgeoning career in classical music. Her professional journey in women’s healthcare as a nurse, nurse practitioner, and certified nurse-midwife, coupled with her recognition as a prominent dance critic in the Western US, showcases her diverse talents. She has also choreographed for various community and professional theatre productions. A unique turn of events led her to co-own a Mad Science franchise, where she applied her scientific expertise for five years.
Upon nearing retirement, Karen pursued a long-held dream and was accepted into the religious studies program at United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities. Graduating in late 2023, she successfully sold her thesis to a prestigious publisher known for its scholarly engagement with the Baha’i Faith. This marks her first foray into non-fiction, and she is thrilled about this new chapter.
